Xiaomi, one of China’s leading smartphone company is now rumoured to launch a new smartwatch. The device could carry a price tag of 600 Yuan ($96), or approximately Rs 6,100.

According to a leak by GizmoChina, the rumoured smartwatch will feature a Snapdragon 410 64-bit quad-core processor paired with 512 RAM. It will also include an internal storage of 4GB and we can also expect a heart rate monitor. At the moment, the report states that the watch will sport a 1.3-inch display, but there is no confirmation.

A previous report pointed out that Xiaomi was working on a new smartwatch to compete with the Apple Watch. A Chinese website 36Krypton had reported that Xiaomi plans a new smartwatch with a large round dial and pulse measure feature. This means, unlike Apple Watch, it will feature a round Moto 360-like design. However, it is expected to come with premium materials and brushed metal design. There is no word on whether it will run Android Wear, or the feature that will make it compete with the Apple Watch.

Late last year, without putting out an official word on a new smartwatch, Hugo Barra had said he wants consumer feedback on what they would want to see in a smartwatch, if the company was to build one. Based on suggestions, Xiaomi can consider building a smartwatch for their fans which could be affordable as well.

This won’t be the company’s first wearable device. Xiaomi has already been selling the Mi Band, a fitness band for a while now. Just like most of the fitness trackers in the market, the water-resistant wearable tracks user movements and also sleeping patterns. Another interesting feature is its ability to unlock a device.
