[TUT] How to prevent Stagefright exploitation

 How to prevent Stagefright exploitation
Recently, Google announced that there's a new bug discovered and could manipulate your  android phone. Almost 95% of android phone could be risk and vulnerable for a single text thru MMS. Hacker bind a code in this MMS and can exploit the victim even you did not download or opening it unlike in other malware. This attack severely include froyo 2.2 up to android 5.1 latest android version. Actually, Google has already patch for this to prevent it but they still contacting all the manufacturer of smartphone company. It also warned us that this is crucial and still unknown on how could this attack happen. How can you imagine this for only single text can manipulate your phone without knowing it. Perhaps can accesss your data, photos, and bank account that link in your phone.

Stagefright Exploitation Prevention

According. to forbes.com, "The weaknesses reside in Stagefright, a media playback tool in Android. They are all “remote code execution” bugs, allowing malicious hackers to infiltrate devices and exfiltrate private data. All attackers would need to send out exploits would be mobile phone numbers, Drake noted. From there, they could send an exploit packaged in a Stagefright multimedia message (MMS), which would let them write code to the device and steal data from sections of the phone that can be reached with Stagefright’s permissions. That would allow for recording of audio and video, and snooping on photos stored in SD cards. Bluetooth would also be hackable via Stagefright".

Based on my observation this stagefright has a big rule in our android phone. It seen in system libs that can access our media files, as well as audio and videos. Honestly, I don't have an idea how can manipulate it via MMS nor what the extent of the attack and how dangerous is it. Although, stagefright which access our media we can prevent it. Simply, MMS is the route we need to disable it.
I have two method to disable it one is via mms settings just off your auto retrieve and other one simply change APN of network settings. We need to prepare until waiting for the updates of Google's android. Also don't give your number to suspicious persons. Remember the famous quote, "Prevention is better than Cure".

Method 1.

Go to MMS settings>Auto Retrieve>Off

Method 2.
Go to settings>more>Mobile Networks>Access Point Names> Change MMS proxy and port any name you want. To disable MMS.

14 million computers are now running Windows 10: Microsoft

windows-10-start-full-624x351.png

Microsoft says its’ new Windows 10 operating system is now running on more than 14 million computers, two days after the software was released as a free download.

That’s a far cry from the company’s goal of getting Windows 10 onto a billion devices within three years. Microsoft says it’s releasing the software in waves to make sure downloads go smoothly.

In a blog post late Thursday, Microsoft said it has not yet delivered Windows 10 to everyone who requested a free upgrade for computers running older Windows versions. Microsoft says the 14 million includes some copies installed on new computers sold in stores.

Reaction has been mostly favorable, with reviewers calling the new Windows an improvement over the last version, known as Windows 8.

Firechat app allows users to message without an internet connection

FireChat_APp-624x351

In a new innovative approach, FireChat, a mobile app for iOS and Android, lets users chat and message each other without having a working mobile data connection.

In April 2014, we heard how “the technique might someday be used to tie together thousands of devices with built-in radios and make it possible to be online without having to pay for the access. It could also enable online communications in remote areas or disaster zones without Wi-Fi or cellular signals. Furthermore, the conversations in these so-called “off-the-grid” networks can’t be easily hacked into by spies and mischief makers or shut down by governments trying to stifle free speech.”

According to the BBC, “The app links phones via their Bluetooth and WiFi signals, but can use internet connections when available. FireChat has become popular with users congregating in large crowds, such as at music festivals and protests, where mobile signals may be overloaded. Previously, conversations via the app were chatroom-based and public. The move to enable end-to-end encryption makes FireChat the first widely-used social mesh network which claims to offer private communications.”

Quoting Richard Tynan, a technologist at Privacy International, the BBC report added, “Firechat’s announcement that it will seek to provide end-to-end encrypted messaging is a positive step for privacy. However, it remains to be seen whether the quality of these implementations actually lives up to the claims. For many at risk individuals, the security of their communications can be a matter of life and death. It is vital, therefore, that claims about security can be verified and tested independently.”

Recently, the FireChat app had become popular with Hong Kong protesters.

Internet of Things: We will have 38 billion smart devices by 2020

Texting-using-cellphone-smartphone-jpg-624x351

There are already more than two connected or smart devices accessing the web for every person on the planet but this is very much just the beginning.

According to new data from Juniper Research, the Internet of Things (IoT) may well still be in a nascent stage as far as consumers are concerned, but businesses are already embracing its possibilities. So much so that it is expected to grow by some 285% over the next five years.

At the moment, the businesses that recognize the biggest potential benefit in greater connectivity are in the travel, transportation and hospitality, and banking and financial services sectors.

Research from Tata Consulting Services published this month shows that although 79% of enterprises globally are developing Internet of Things initiatives in a bid to better understand and serve customers, it’s the companies in the aforementioned sectors that are starting to blaze a trail — investing the most money in IoT solutions, research and development.

For example, an increasing number of airlines are investing in beacon technology that can push information to travelers’ smartphones regarding everything from gate number changes and shortest routes to the baggage carousel to special offers on duty free. In a July 20 SITA study, 44% of airlines said they were looking to use beacons to improve their services by 2018 — up from just 9% a year previously.

However, devices and systems aimed at consumers are still in their very early days and there are a number of issues that need to be addressed if the public are to embrace the possibilities as wholeheartedly as industry already has.

The challenge of compatibility

One of the biggest potential obstacles is interoperability. Different devices from different companies won’t work in concert or in unison with existing smart home products.

Trying to address this problem is AllSeen, a group of companies that together are supporting an open-source framework called AllJoyn that anyone can use to build a connected device. It has already signed up 170 members including Electrolux, LG, Microsoft, Qualcomm and Sony; and on Wednesday added Philips to the fold.

“Healthcare will change substantially in the coming years, with a growing role for health self-management. Addressing the needs of personal health requires a new perspective and innovative technologies like the AllJoyn software framework,” said Liat Ben-Zur, Senior Vice President and Head of Digital Technology at Philips. “We look forward to working with the other members of the AllSeen Alliance to advance connectivity and digitalization in the personal health area based on AllJoyn as part of a truly connected world.”

Windows 10: Home edition priced at Rs 7,999 and Windows 10 Pro at Rs 14,999 in India

Windows10-624x351

It is known to all that Microsoft’s Windows 10 is a free upgrade but what a few might have missed is that the upgrade only comes free to those who run genuine copies of Windows 7 or Windows 8/8.1. But if you are on an older Windows OS, such as Windows XP or Windows Vista, you will need to buy a copy of Windows 10.

A day after Windows 10 officially launched in 190 countries, Microsoft announced the official pricing in India for Windows 10. The Windows 10 Home edition will cost $119 (approximately Rs 7,999) for new users while Windows 10 Pro will cost $199 (approximately Rs 14,999). Consumers can head to the Microsoft Store to purchase it online or can simply head to retail stores in the country.

Commenting on the launch of Windows 10, Bhaskar Pramanik, Chairman, Microsoft India said, “Windows 10 is the best Windows ever. Today, Windows 10 will be available across 190 countries as a free upgrade or with new PCs and tablets. It is more personal and more productive. It’s safer and more secure. And it’s familiar and always up to date. In India, more than 1500 retail stores across the country will help consumers move up to Windows 10.”

Windows 10: Initial reviews are out and the new OS gets a thumbs up from critics

windows-10-start-full-624x351.png

Microsoft’s Windows 8 was an attempt to bring touch to computing, but it did little to please audiences. Microsoft went wrong with Windows 8/8.1, and the all-new Windows 10 shows how the company gracefully accepted the mistake and made the right amendments. The initial reviews of Windows 10 are out, and the new OS version seems like a winner already.

Just like Windows 7 came as a saviour to take away the pain caused by Vista, looks like Windows 10 is here to save us all from Windows 8. It is free to upgrade staring July 29 for any PC running Windows 7 or Windows 8/8.1. If you are planning to upgrade, then take a look at our checklist to follow just before you take the plunge.
Treadwell3

Windows 10 isn’t simply a reincarnation of Windows 7, but brings back the best from Windows 7 and 8 versions. To begin with, the Start Menu that users love is back.

“Microsoft is keeping the Live Tiles it introduced in Windows 8, but it’s put them inside the Start menu. That means that they won’t take up your entire monitor anymore (unless you really want them to). You can pin both modern and traditional apps to the Start menu, and there’s easy access to settings, shutdown or restart, and a list of most-used apps complete with handy jump lists for apps like Word that handle files. This mix of features feels like the best approach for bringing the Start menu back, and you can resize it freely to customize it further,” writes TheVerge’s Tom Warren.

Another notable change is Microsoft Edge that now replaces Internet Explorer. However, it still needs some fixes. ” Unlike Internet Explorer, Microsoft Edge isn’t stable – the browser crashes pretty often, and you’ll see that the browser freezes every now and then. However, other than random crashes, you’ll hardly find any other annoying issues,” writes Mehedi Hassan of Microsoft-news.

windows 10

The company brings Cortana to the desktop, and this is one of the best moves by Microsoft. It has made search a lot more discoverable for average users by embedding a very visible Cortana bar right next to the Start button. Instead of expecting normal users to know they could just start typing anywhere on their home screens to search, Microsoft has provided Cortana as a visual cue. Using Cortana to search, users get a mix of local and Web search results. But by clicking on a “My Stuff” tab that pops up at the bottom of the Cortana pane once a user starts typing a query, users can refine their results to local or Web,” Mary Jo Foley of ZDNet writes.

“Her desktop incarnation isn’t tremendously different. The biggest practical change I noticed is that in Windows 10 she supports the “Hey Cortana” feature on any system with a microphone—you can get her attention and give her commands at any time, just by saying “Hey Cortana.” This is only available on a limited number of phone models,” ArsTechnica writes.

Yahoo’s David Pogue is also happy with the new OS. He writes, “Windows 10 is coherent. It makes sense. Its design no longer leaves you pounding your forehead on your desk.”
Windows-10
He further adds, “You really are going to love Windows 10. You’ll almost certainly want to upgrade your computers to it, especially since it’s free. If you’re a PC veteran, then you’ll recognize Windows 10: It’s pretty much Windows 7, with Cortana, nicer typography, and a few new features.”
Cnet’s Nate Ralph sings to a similar tune by saying, “Windows 10 delivers a refined, vastly improved vision for the future of computing.”

Re/code’s Walt Mossberg states, “I regard Windows 10 as a solid, evolutionary operating system that’s likely to be a good bet for people who like Windows. But don’t upgrade until more of the bugs have been worked out.”

Peter Bright of Arstechnica has a similar say, he believes Windows 10 is the best version to come from Microsoft, but only once the bugs are fixed. Talking about Continuum he writes, “Continuum is how Windows 8 should have always worked. It lets the operating system play to the strengths of the hardware it’s running on, even as that hardware changes.”

win10_windows_startscreen2_Web

Talking about security, he further adds, “The Hello feature supports three kinds of biometrics: fingerprint, facial recognition, and iris scanning. The one I’ve used is facial recognition. This can’t be used with any old webcam; it requires depth-sensing 3D cameras, which means it (supposedly) can’t be faked out with photographs. The system works entirely transparently; to log in, I simply have to sit down at the computer’s login screen and it recognizes me. This would pose an issue when trying to lock the computer—it would unlock from recognizing your face as soon as you locked it—but Microsoft has noticed that issue, and so there’s a short timeout period after locking the machine during which Hello can’t unlock it.”

“Windows devotees should be pleased with this update that represents a return to form for Microsoft”, concludes Mashable’s Ariel Bogle.

Looks like, Microsoft has done everything to bring back the familiar Windows feel that people love, and also combine it with new elements of its last and not-so-loved Windows 8 version. So far, the reviews are looking good. Now, lets wait for user reviews to know how it fares after a prolonged usage.

Samsung reports fifth straight drop in quarterly earnings as Galaxy S6 fails to reverse decline

Samsung-logo-624x351

Samsung Electronics reported Thursday a fifth straight drop in quarterly earnings as the Galaxy S6 failed to reverse its declining fortunes in the smartphone industry.

The company’s overall earnings drop during the April-June quarter was 8% but it reported a much bigger decline of 38% in the mobile division’s income. The sharp profit drop in the mobile business came despite its ambitious start to the quarter with the launch of two flagship smartphones: The Galaxy S6 and the S6 Edge featuring a curved side display.

“Total sales of the S6 and S6 Edge during the second quarter were below expectations,” Park Jinyoung, a vice president at Samsung’s mobile communications team, said on a conference call.

The decline in the mobile profit was smaller than the previous quarter’s nearly 60% plunge, but it extended the mobile division’s losing streak. Samsung’s sky-high growth in the smartphone industry came to a sudden stop in 2013 as bigger iPhone models lured buyers from Samsung phones and Chinese phone makers squeezed its sales in China.

Samsung’s April-June net income was 5.8 trillion won ($5 billion), down 8% from 6.3 trillion won a year earlier. A FactSet survey of analysts predicted 5.6 trillion won of net income.

Sales fell 7% over a year earlier to 48.5 trillion won while operating income dropped 4% to 6.9 trillion won, in line with its earnings preview earlier this month. It generated 2.8 trillion won operating income from the mobile business compared with 4.4 trillion won a year earlier.

The only bright spot came from sales of components powering smartphones. A robust performance at its semiconductor department helped narrow the overall profit decline. Operating income from its semiconductor division surpassed the 3 trillion won mark for the first time in several years.

Samsung pinned high hopes on the S6 and S6 Edge phones when they were introduced in April. So much so that local media dubbed them the “Lee Jae-yong phone,” indicating that they were overseen by the Samsung chairman’s son, Lee Jae-yong. He is a vice chairman at Samsung who is widely expected to succeed his ailing father.

But sales of the flagship models fell short, dealing a blow to the 47-year-old heir apparent who has not proven that he is capable of leading the Asian tech giant at a time of serious challenges.

The company was hit by two problems with its Galaxy S6 series. The regular version of the phone, the Galaxy S6, wasn’t as popular as expected, while it could not keep up with demand for the S6 Edge model, which features a display that curves on both sides that is more difficult to produce.

Market research firm IDC said Samsung, still the world’s largest maker of smartphones, was the only top five smartphone vendor that lost market share during the second quarter, falling to 22%, from 25% a year earlier.

Samsung executives did not give many details about whether the company would tweak its mobile strategies. Their response during the earnings conference call was to “innovate the hardware to lead the market in the premium segment” and to “continue to add services.”

The company is scheduled to hold an event on August 13 in New York city, bringing forward its usual product launch schedule by one month. It is widely expected to announce two new mobile devices. Samsung has held the new product launch in September in previous years.

Samsung shares fell nearly 3% after earnings announcement.

Windows 10: India will have to wait for Microsoft’s Cortana

cortana_640x360-624x351

If you were hoping to use Cortana, Microsoft’s voice-activated digital assisstant in Windows 10 as soon as you upgrade, here’s some bad news: you’re going to have to wait. Microsoft is updating the software with “strong local content”, according to Microsoft India Director (Windows Business Group) Vineet Durani.

Microsoft, which unveiled its much-awaited Windows 10 operating system globally and in-built Cortana today, has held back from launching the Siri rival in India.

Cortana will be made available to Insiders (developers with Microsoft) in the coming weeks and then later to consumers,” Durani said. People can use the virtual assistant to find data, track information, set reminders, etc.

People can use the virtual assistant to find data, track information, set reminders, etc. “Cortana is not just an assistant. It understands the context and answers accordingly. It is not just about understanding accents. So, there is a strong localisation that needs to be done,” he said.

Microsoft today launched the Windows 10 across 190 countries globally. Available as a free upgrade for existing users of Windows 7 and 8.1, the new operating system is part of Microsoft’s attempts to compete with rivals like Apple and Google.

While an estimated 1.5 billion machines run Windows, Apple’s iOS and Google’s Android based smartphones and tablets have emerged as strong competition to the Redmond-based firm. With the new OS, Microsoft plans to offer a seamless experience to users across devices like PCs, tablets, smartphones and XBox (its gaming device).

“Microsoft is presenting not just an OS, but an experience. There is a fundamental shift in the design and user interface. It will help IT leaders work in a better manner as there will be seamless syncing across devices,”

Gartner Principal Research Analyst Vishal Tripathi said. He added that it still needs to be seen whether Microsoft can move pirated software users to original software.

“Also, enterprise customers may wait a bit before transitioning to Windows 10 as support for previous generation is still available. Its not only about the OS which is a concern for organizations it’s also about security, compatibility and manageability so many of them will adopt wait and watch strategy,” Tripathi said.

Organisations would need to spend efforts, time and money to test the compatibility with other software as well, he added.

India will be a tough market for Windows 10, specially with enterprise users, say analysts

windows-10-product-624x350.png

As the world awaits the Wednesday launch of Windows 10 operating system by Microsoft, with which its Indian-born chief executive Satya Nadella wants to power a billion devices in a few years, its potential efficacy in India has evoked mixed response among analysts.

While some feel it may not be a super hit, despite a free update for those with versions above Windows 7, others say it will prove more of use on devices other than personal computers, like smartphones, tablets and other handhelds.

This apart, its acceptability at the enterprise level is also in doubt. Nevertheless, Windows 10 will also help those with pirated versions of Microsoft operating systems to migrate to an authentic version, making room for a wide range of applications to choose from.

“At the enterprise level, adoption will vary. Early adopters of Windows 7 may migrate to Windows 10 if they have some compelling business reasons. Cost is not the only concern for organisations. It is also about security, compatibility and manageability,” said Vishal Tripathi, research director at Gartner India.

“Organisations use legacy- and custom-based applications than regular plug-and-play software. A compatibility test is needed. That will require time and effort. Those that recently migrated to Windows 7 will not move away too quickly, while others will wait and watch,” Tripathi told IANS
According to Prasanto K. Roy, a noted technology writer and chief editor of Trivone, a media and digital services company, Windows is an overhaul of the previous version that had flopped. But getting enterprises to upgrade to it will be near-impossible.

“This apart, PC sales are also weak and Windows users don’t upgrade the way Mac OS users (or iOS users) do when a new OS is launched. This is true worldwide, and even more so in India,” Roy told IANS.

“Overall, I think Windows 10 is great. But it isn’t going to save Microsoft or do much for its desktop revenues.”

Another analyst, Kiran Kumar of IDC, said India has an installed base of 55-60 million personal computers, out of which some 55 percent are with individual consumers while the remaining are with businesses and institutions.

“An increase of even 1.5-2 percent in PC volumes will mean around 10 million additional volumes. Consumers will be eager to go for the new Microsoft launch, as Windows 10 is a free upgrade. These will be targets for vendors like Microsoft,” Kumar told IANS.

But it is over the enterprises market that analysts seem to converge with the forecasts.

“The enterprise market remains a tough nut to crack for Windows. This is true globally and more so in India, because enterprises are reluctant to upgrade,” said Roy, adding, as stability is the main criteria, may will hold on to ageing Windows 7 or even the obsolete, 13-year-old Windows XP.

“It’s next to impossible to get a large enterprise to upgrade Windows, or even to agree to buy hardware with the latest version of Windows within the same year of a new version’s launch,” Roy said.

Clearly, the experts feel that Microsoft appears to be targeting new devices.

“By offering Windows 10 free, Microsoft is attempting to compete with Apple, Samsung and Sony in the tablets and smartphones segment where they use iOS and Andriod OS, developed by Google,” said Siva Kumar, a software engineer in Bengaluru.

“With more users shifting to tablets and smartphones for their mobility and convenience, Microsoft is trying to catch up with peers with its Lumia, which it acquired from Nokia post its takeover,” he added.

Even Microsoft has conceded this bit.

“The world today is very different from the one in which Windows grew up. Today, devices outnumber people. Connectivity is like oxygen. The tension between the desire for agility versus stability poses a huge challenge for IT Pros,” Microsoft said.

“The new Windows must be built from the ground-up for a mobile-first, cloud-first world. This new Windows must help our customers be productive in both their digital work and their digital life,” the company said ahead of the launch

“This new Windows must empower people and organisations to do great things. That new Windows is Windows 10,” it said, adding it will target devices small or large screens, or even some that don’t have screens at all.

Stating that it will also target devices that are 10 feet away, use touch, or a pen, or even gestures, besides the traditional mouse or keyboards, Microsoft said Windows 10 is not about one user interface but one product family, tailored for every device.

But how far will Microsoft be able to penetrate the smartphone market?

Said Roy: “Mobiles, including tablets are a big focus for Windows 10. But its share of smartphones is so low in India and the world that it becomes irrelevant. I don’t see that changing in India or elsewhere, however great Windows 10 Mobile may be – even with smoother Android-apps support.”

Galaxy Note 5 Pics, Specs Leak; Samsung Schedules August 13 Launch Event

samsung_unpacked_2015_invitation

Samsung, as expected, has announced the Galaxy Unpacked 2015 event scheduled on August 13, where the company is set to debut its next-generation Galaxy Note smartphone - expected to be called the Galaxy Note 5. The company is also likely to reveal the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge Plus at the same event. Additionally, a flurry of leaked Samsung Galaxy Note 5 images has surfaced on the Internet alongside purported specifications.

The South Korean giant has announced that the event will take place in Lincoln Centre, New York. The 'Unpacked' event will be live streamed on YouTube, confirmed the company on its Samsung Tomorrow website. The official invitation to the Galaxy Unpacked 2015 event features an image with what appears to be a smartphone covered by a cloth, and curved edges tipping a dual-edge display.

It's worth noting that this is the first instance in several years when Samsung has advanced the launch of its Galaxy Note phablet, which previously took place in the first week of September at the IFA tradeshow. An advanced launch approach by Samsung for the new Galaxy Note clearly would be an attempt to take on the sales of the new iPhone models, which is not likely to begin before September-end or early October.

A Korean report has claimed that out of the two devices - the Galaxy Note 5 and Galaxy S6 Edge Plus - expected to launch on August 13; only the Galaxy S6 Edge Plus will be rolled out globally while the Galaxy Note 5 will launch in select markets.

Korea Herald reports that Samsung can launch the Galaxy Note 5 in select markets including Korea and the US, where the sales of previous-generation Galaxy Note phablets were strong. The report quotes a Samsung official, "Samsung has almost finalised the talks with global mobile carriers to release the Galaxy S6 Edge Plus, but the launch of the Galaxy Note 5 has not yet been decided." The move is said to be an attempt to avoid cannibalisation between similar products.

In a separate leak, Nowhereelse.fr (via Nilkin's Weibo account) has posted a flurry of Galaxy Note 5 images showing the handset in its full glory. The images show an alleged Galaxy Note 5 in a transparent case and sporting a reminiscent design already seen on the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge. By looking at the leaked images, we can assume that both the front and rear panel of the Galaxy Note 5 have been made out of glass; though we will have to wait till August 13 for the official confirmation. In the images, the recently leaked S Pen stylus is also seen.

Lastly, the Galaxy Note 5 details have been spotted in CPU-Z system information software. In the leaked screenshots (via GSM Arena) from CPU-Z, the handset is listed with model number SM-N920F and is powered by Samsung's Exynos 7422 processor. Other details tipped by the leaked screenshot show 4GB of RAM; 32GB inbuilt storage; a 5.7-inch QHD screen, and Android 5.1.1 Lollipop.

Moto G (Gen 3) Price and Specifications Leaked by Flipkart Listing

moto_g_gen_3_flipkart_listing

Motorola's third-generation Moto G has been leaked in full with specifications and pricing tipped by the company's official online retail partner in India, Flipkart, ahead of the firm's Tuesday launch event.

In line with recent rumours, the Flipkart listing suggested that the Motorola Moto G (Gen 3) will be available in two variants - 8GB inbuilt storage with 1GB of RAM, and a 16GB storage with 2GB of RAM. According to the Flipkart listing (now pulled down), the Moto G (Gen 3) will be available at Rs. 11,999 for the 8GB variant.

Some of the other details of the handset seen on the Flipkart listing include dual-SIM (Micro-SIM cards) support with 4G LTE connectivity; a 5-inch HD (720x1280 pixels) display with Corning Gorilla Glass 3; Android 5.1.1 Lollipop; a 1.4GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 processor; an Adreno 306 GPU; expandable storage support via microSD card (up to 32GB); a 13-megapixel rear camera with dual-LED flash; a 5-megapixel front camera, and a 2470mAh battery. The listing was first spotted by Techdroider and seems to be a teaser listing for interested consumers on Flipkart's mobile app as the bottom of the screen notes, "Thank you for your interest. We will notify you when the product is available."
moto_g_gen_3_hellomotohk
The retailer also listed an image of the Moto G (Gen 3) that was in line with previous leaks. The front of the Motorola Moto G (Gen 3) looks largely similar to the second-generation Moto G.
Unfortunately, the rear panel of the handset was not shown in the purported listing. An LG-like vertical strip near the rear camera on the Moto G (Gen 3) has been leaked several times housing the rear camera at one end and the Motorola logo at the other. A dual-LED flash was also seen placed on the strip.

Notably, the Flipkart listing however misses out on some details, such as there is no mention about IPX7 certification, which has been anticipated for the Moto G (Gen 3) for a long time.

It's also worth noting that Flipkart is no longer listing the Moto G (Gen 2) for the sale in India tipping that the second-generation handset might be phased out soon after the company launched the new Moto G.

In a separate leak, images of the Motorola Moto G (Gen 3)'s box packaging have surfaced on the Internet. The images come courtesy Hello Moto HK and show the box contents alongside innards of the handset, which are in line with previous leaks.

A publication also separately claims to have got its hands on the Moto G (Gen 3), and has posted another set of images to the Web. Visible on the rear panel is the same LG-like strip with the rear camera on top, and the Motorola logo at the bottom.

Motorola has already confirmed an event on Tuesday where the company is expected to launch its new Moto G (Gen 3) and Moto X (Gen 3) smartphones.

Leaked photos show off Galaxy Note 5 and Galaxy S6 edge+ boot screens

galaxy-s6-edge-bottom

We’re just a couple of weeks away from Samsung’s official announcement for the Galaxy Note 5 and the Galaxy S6 edge+, multiple leaked photos of both devices have already been floating on the internet. Several new leaked photos have appeared online today claiming to show the boot screens of the Galaxy Note 5 and Galaxy S6 edge+. Do keep in mind though that there’s always a possibility that these boot screens were fabricated but that they don’t appear to show anything out of the ordinary.

The pictures also reveal the design of both devices, there’s nothing surprising about the Galaxy S6 edge+ since it’s merely an enlarged version of the Galaxy S6 edge. As expected the Galaxy Note 5 appears to borrow major design cues from the Galaxy S6 duo but does pull off that look quite nicely.

We have already reported exclusively that the Galaxy Note 5 and the Galaxy S6 edge+ will be officially launched on August 12 with shipments starting in select markets by August 21.
