Android 6.0 Marshmallow to roll out from 5 October on some devices

We are just a few days away from Google’s big event which is scheduled for in San Francisco on September 29. During the event, Google is expected to unveil the much talked about Nexus smartphones built by LG and Huawei (LG Nexus 5X and Huawei Nexus 6P). Reportedly, Android 6.0 Marshmallow – will roll out to the following devices on October 5.

Canadian mobile provider Telus had initially listed the release of Android M for Google’s Nexus devices on October 5 but was shortly taken down thereafter. However, MobileSyrup captured the above image of the list of the devices posted by telecom carrier. As of now, there is no official statement by Google as to when the new Android 6.0 will roll out.


Marshmallow was one of the highly speculated name that fits Google’s nomenclature of sweet treats like –Cup Cake, Eclair, Froyo, Gingerbread, Honeycomb, Ice Cream Sandwich, Jelly Bean, KitKat and Lollipop. It beat other probable names like Mud pie, Mousse, and our very favourite Malai Barfi.
The company revealed the name on its developers blog and alongside also revealed the final Android 6.0 SDK that will be available for download via the SDK Manager in Android Studio. It will bring access to final Android APIs and latest build tools.
