(Via Telecompaper.com ) Taiwanese manufacturer Asus has announced that it sold 10,000 units of its first smartphone in Brazil, the Zenfone 5, online in less than a day, reports Folha de Sao Paulo. The device was launched on 15 October at the promotional price of BRL 499. A day later, the price was adjusted to BRL 599. The stock, according to a statement from the company, was sold out in just three hours. Meanwhile, local TV presenter Sabrina Sato has been hired as ambassador for the Zenfone brand in Brazil. She stars in a series of videos being aired on YouTube. According to the company, the launch of the Zenfone is the biggest investment in marketing by Asus in Brazil since the start of operations in the country in 2008.
